TV Computers Webmaster: Learn About This Site's Owner

First of all I'd like to welcome you to TV Tuner Computers which is a part of the Computer Deals Guide Network. My name is Jim Polak and as this site's webmaster, I hope the information I provide helps you learn about the TV computer buying process, helps you understand the components and features of today's TV tuner computers, and ultimately helps you choose an affordable TV computer that fits your budget and meets your computing requirements.

A little bit about myself: I'm a regular guy who has a great interest in computers and the way the internet works. Like many people I like to flip through the ads in the Sunday newspaper. I always set aside the ones that are electronics-related. I like to look for laptop and desktop deals even when I'm not in the market to buy a new computer. I also like to see what new computer technologies are coming out.

Until recently I owned three desktops and two laptops(plus my wife has
a laptop). Out of those six computers I would say that all but one of them were purchased in an affordable price range. I have an HP desktop that I've been using since 2002. I also have a Compaq desktop that I bought for $500. I sold my $300 Dell desktop in October of 2007. All three laptops were from Dell. I spent $800 on my wife's laptop and $500 on one of mine(sold this one). All of those affordable computers work just fine for basic personal use and standard business productivity. No problems with speed or memory or graphics.

I've made one mistake in my computer buying career. I spent over $2000 on a Dell laptop. It has all the bells and whistles. I really wish I had not made that purchase, or at least knocked off several hundred dollars from the end purchase price. I needed a computer that could get me on the internet anywhere anytime, so I went with one that was compatible with the Cingular wireless broadband service. That part was great but I added way too many other features that I rarely use and really don't need. Lesson learned on that one.

I work from home. I like to consider myself an internet infopreneur. This site is one piece of a large internet project I'll be working on throughout the course of 2007-2008 and beyond. I've actually been working from home since June of 2004(following a 7 year engineering career in the automotive industry). I've dabbled in several different internet areas looking for a way to build a stable online income to support my family and to save for the future. I finally decided to go with what I know and what I'm good at. So I'm taking my interest in computers and building content-based websites around my knowledge and research.

Once again welcome to TV-Tuner-Computers.com and thanks for visiting. I'm open to any questions, comments, or feedback that you may have. Feel free to use the contact form to send me a message(link on the left-hand navigation menu). Thanks also for taking the time to read a little bit about myself and what I do. Best of luck in your search for an affordable TV computer that meets your personal or business computing needs.
